Hey everyone,

If you've been around LgC since the VERY old days (2008-2011), you would've witnessed our modding and mapping era, when we had our very own maps in Call of Duty 4 which were hosted on LgC's dedicated servers.

For the past few months, I've been keeping an eye on BlackOps 3 mod tools news, and happy to report that the closed alpha version is finally out and the reviews are good !

No ETA on servers yet as far as I'm aware. I'll keep an eye on any more updates and share them as they become available!

I wonder if Fart and KILL3R's old "house" assets would be easily added to Radiant. Wasn't the old map tool for MW Radiant as well?

Hey Cloc

yes CoD 4 was done in Radiant. Chances are old maps will be portable, crossing fingers.

So, the mod tools have gone beta? Should I pick up the game now?

*Edit: Got it anyways.

Care to shine some light on where you gathered this? Cloc and I both tried it and when we click install it opens the steam app on our pc and just redirects to the main store page.

Can't find it in the steam store and Google and reddit searches turn up nothing for us either.

This is a record of Steam's database contents which simply means that an entry for BO3 mod tools exists and (at some point) will be published on the app itself. I thought everyone knew about steamdb.info .. lol!

Cloc, you are certainly ready for the tools now. Serious question though, how is BO3? Have you played it yet?

Treyarch PC development twitter account mentioned today that "Open beta will start later this year" .. since Steam db has that entry, I take it the tools are coming out relatively soon.

Edit: I will do some more research on mod forums this week. Old, feel free to chime in if you looked into this also!

Overall, gameplay is pretty good; however, it's hard to really gauge the performance as the multiplayer is currently matchmaking. It does run rather smooth and the mechanics are sound. One annoying aspect of the game is the upgrades. There are three different forms of currency in-game and they are used to buy most of the available upgrades in-game. It can get confusing, especially for someone just starting out. While you don't have to spend real money for in-game currency, the system was obviously designed as a cash generator of sorts. Also, I believe only one of the forms of currency can actually be bought with real money.

Haven't played the campaign at all so I can't really give any info on that. I'm just speculating, but it is probably not great.

I've seen friends playing updated Modern Warfare on console, and something about new maps coming to it. Is anyone following the news for PC?

Updated? You mean Remastered? If so, it's the same shit with no console commands (that I know of), no dedicated servers, no mod tools, no admin tools... but I hear it looks great!

Such a shame. I new it wouldn't happen but I was hoping the PC version would be the same as the old one server browser and all. That would have been sweet.
